Christmas Cookie Swap

Do you have a Christmas cookie that you love to bake each year or a cookie recipe that has been handed down through generations in your family? Join us for a Christmas cookie tasting and recipe swap on Tuesday, December 13 at 12: 30 PM.  Sign up with Katie and give her a copy of your recipe by Friday, December 9. Then on the day of the swap bring 2 dozen of your home baked cookies to share. We will have tea, coffee and hot chocolate to enjoy as we sample each other’s delicious treats. Katie will hand out booklets of all of the recipes for everyone to take home and enjoy.

Wreath Decorating Workshop

We are so happy to be hosting the Radnor Memorial Library’s annual holiday wreath decorating workshop on Monday, December 5 at 7 PM.  Heather Potter, owner of Cottage Flowers in Malvern, will be teaching the workshop. Heather brings fresh wreaths and an abundance of natural decorations (and more) to decorate your wreath.  Class size is limited but we have reserved 5 spots for Wayne Senior Center members with the Library.  The cost is $20 for materials and is due at registration. Wayne Tree Lighting and Open House

Wayne Business Association will be holding an Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration.  There will be carolers strolling the streets of Wayne, winter carriage rides, face painting, and crafts for kids at the Radnor Fire Company. The Center will hold an Open House for the community from 5:30 PM to 8 PM, with a Christmas train display and Christmas cookies and hot chocolate, so be sure to drop in to warm up and enjoy a sweet treat. It is a great time to show off the Center to your family and friends! The Valley Forge Military Academy and College Choir will sing Christmas carols at the Wayne Train Station at 7:30 PM before the countdown and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon

Join us on Tuesday, November 22 for the Center’s annual Thanksgiving luncheon. This year we will enjoy a performance from local crooner Tony Messina. His show will start at 11AM  and will include songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dean Martin. The luncheon will begin at 12 PM and will include a delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings! We are thrilled that our meal will once again be served by our friends at the Wayne Rotary Club. Don’t forget to thank them for all they do for our community! Seating is limited so be sure to sign up as soon as possible. The cost for this event is $3.

Talbots Fundraiser

We are excited to be partnering with Talbots located in Paoli Shopping Center for a fundraiser to benefit the Center! On Wednesday, November 16th from 2PM to 7PM, 10% of all purchases made at Talbots in Paoli will be donated to Wayne Senior Center! Wayne Senior Center staff and Board members will also be on hand that day to share information with shoppers about the wonderful work we do at the Center. Start your holiday shopping early and help raise funds for the Center. Be sure to tell your friends!

Thanksgiving at Radnor High School

We have been invited once again to enjoy a FREE Thanksgiving feast with the students of Radnor High School. The students will be serving a traditional turkey meal for seniors in our community on Tuesday, November 15 at 5:30pm in the Radnor High School cafeteria. There will also be lots of music and dancing. If you are interested in attending, please call the Center by Monday, November 7, to place your name on the list.  It is sure to be a wonderful time with the generous young people of Radnor Township!
